Dr. Nana Odoom recognizes that going to the dentist can sometimes feel overwhelming which is why from the moment you walk through our door, you’ll notice things are a little different in our Mechanicsburg practice.

When you are with Dr. Nana and her team, you’ll find we tune in to the little details, just like your favorite auntie might, listening carefully to what our patients have to say and helping to prepare our smallest patients for what a dental exam is all about.

We take a forward-thinking approach into everything we do. We incorporate current scientific research into our practice. An example would be being trained in minimally invasive dentistry techniques. We explain everything to both kids and parents so everyone feels comfortable.
Smilehaus is a proud female-owned business led by Dr. Nana—an immigrant of Ghana. We give families a complete pediatric dentistry option for all kids. Dr. Nana also values her team and their feedback to make sure that they are involved in her practice's decision making.
Our goal is to help children take ownership of their oral health. We achieve this by making sure parents and children feel heard, appreciated, and empowered. Whether it’s a routine cleaning or procedure, we pay attention to the child’s true need, their behavior, and how to accomplish the dental need for the child at that moment.
Dr. Nana realized right away her passion was working with children. She turned this passion into a successful dental career and owning her own pediatric dental practice. She happily shares her story to show her kid patients it’s possible to achieve your goals and make a career out of doing something you love.
Growing up in Ghana, Dr. Nana’s rich love for culture and learning inspired her to travel throughout the globe for her education. She studied in West Africa, the United Kingdom, and naturally made her way to the United States. Approachable, empathetic, and passionate about caring for others, her dentist insisted that she look into dentistry – and she’s been pursuing the profession she loves most ever since!
Dr. Nana attended Drake University in Des Moines, IA where she achieved her Bachelor of Science in biology with a minor in French. She went on to become a Doctor of Dental Surgery at the prestigious Columbia University in New York, NY and honed her talents through a general practice residency program at New York Medical College/Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY. Dr. Nana has practiced dentistry since 2012 and looks forward to many more!
Today, Dr. Nana is thrilled to give Mechanicsburg families comprehensive, kid-focused care as the owner and founder of Smilehaus Pediatric Dentistry. Developing true friendships with families and providing trustworthy support for her community are at the heart of her practice. She aims to make sure parents and children feel heard, appreciated, and empowered every step of the way, so little ones can learn to take ownership of their oral health with confidence.
Dr. Nana is a proud mom of two with one of her children attending the Cumberland Valley School District (her oldest just went away to college!). When she’s not treating tiny smiles, you can usually find her messing with yummy recipes in the kitchen, planting something beautiful in her backyard garden, or booking trips to destinations both near and far!
